General notes on hot topic in American Economics.
Who is working for who? Bullet points, you connect the dots
* 1 out of 19 (5%) of american work force receives disability
* 10% of the work force is unemployed
* 5-10% of the work force is cronically unemployed and not part of the statistics for unemployement numbers
* anyone know the stat on under employed? i don't have this dot
* approx 43% of ALL employees are employed by non profit driven business (government employees....). or you can say 28% +/- of the eligible work force)
*The average pay/compensation for a public sector employee is double the average of a private sector employee.
** other discussions include: baby boomers heading towards drawing social security, Fewer and fewer good jobs for our youth graduating from high school...
so who is slave to who? is this a proper question? or is the question different? it is intuitive where this will lead without dramatic shift in thought and action. we can't keep printing money to pay some of the dots above without good manufacturing and other industries/entrepreneurial development to create good work for our people. this means less regulation,.... while we are at it, the alphabet government has to go (IRS<EPA<FDA..ETC......) at least in their current form and functions.
we need to elect non-attorney's to office. i say we dump the political party system similar to the way nebraska politics works. In nebraska one does not put a political party next to his/her name when running for office (so when elected they truly represent the peoples interest and not a political parties interest. less corporate influence etc... we have a balanced budget amendment to our state constitution. we pay our elected officials very little (i think it is 15,000 per year +/-) and no pyramid like pay scheme/long term benefits , we allow the elected officials to be in office either 2 or 3 months per year (this is great, this way only the real important things are voted on...less spending, less regulation). nebraska has term limits etc....
*70% of the worlds attorneys live in the USA.. this is telling and very troubling.... a free country... humph.. for some i guess
*for those of you interested, North Dakota still has 'state' banks. What a great concept. this used to be a standard and is the right thing for a state to be
