New Coconut Oil Packaging NOW AVAILABLE!!!
Thu, 2008-04-24 20:52 — daveIf you enjoy the cost savings when buying your coconut oil products in gallon containers but struggle to make the cost saving buy decision because you prefer to avoid your wonderful coconut oil packaged in food grade plastic containers. If so, then you will appreciate our new packaging that will be introduced by mid May +/-.
We have finally found a PET gallon container with a wide mouth suitable for our coconut oil products. PET is a plastic that is free of the BPA we have all read about in the news and PET does not leach into oils as other food grade plastics. Plus PET will not break compared to a large glass container.
Other packaging news:
We no longer induction seal our liquid products. Take notice under the cap of most liquid products you buy. There is usually a second seal that sticks to the top of the container. This second seal is attached via induction seal. The process involves a high electrical charge that I prefer that our products are not exposed.
You may have noticed that we have finally found a way to package the glass in paper/cardboard rather than foam. This project took 18 months to investigate, design, test and implement. From a environmental stand point the effort was 'the right thing to do'.
Packaging is an important part of any product work. Most companies look at cost and ease of manufacturing as the predominate packaging material factors. I spend much effort researching packaging alternatives and heavily factor in 'community' and eco concerns into the decision making process.
There's more to our efforts at Green Pastures than great oils.
