hi guys! I have been using your fermented butter/cod liver oil for the past year - especially for my kids who seem to have cavity prone teeth. Their teeth are doing MUCH better since they have been taking the cod liver oil (thank you!) I DO have a question, though. One of my three kiddos seems to have problems taking the oil - he takes it, and within 12 hours he has a stomach ache and sulfur smelling gas and burps (gross - sorry) It has happened with both batches of oil that we have purchased. I would really love for him to continue taking the oil! Do you have any suggestions or thoughts? thanks!
You will have to do some trial and error. Everyone is different and has different needs. My guess is there will be a issue within the gallbladder, liver, bile duct area. Some things to consider based on our families experience, we have 6 children and one of our children (number 5 Max) had issues that the oils did not fully address and below is what we learned.
1. Reduce the amount of oils and move very slow with the products. These are very nutrient dense and will challenge ones body especially when there are stresses.
2. Consider introducing kelp powder (minerals) or super green powder that is kelp based, brewers yeast (gut help..B vitamins) and maybe getting a juicer. My wife makes a small vegetable (beet based) juice several mornings per week for the family. She will put in 1/2 tsp of brewers yeast, 1/2 tsp of kelp based super green and depending on lunar cycle she will include some diatomaceous earth (parasites are a big deal that are not properly addressed in the overall discussion of health).
I'm reading a book titled Reactive Oxygen Species Vs Antioxidants.... The Oxypocalypse or the War That Never Was by Prof Randolph M. Howes M.D. Ph.D. You know that you are on the edge of radically wierd if you consider reading this book fun :).
The Quote that is imprinted in my mind and changed how I look at antioxidants was when I attended a Doctor Training Seminar several years ago..... "Why are we all afraid of oxygen, we need oxygen to live! If you think you need an antioxidant eat a blueberry, your body knows what to do with a blueberry!"
Here are some quotes publsihed in the book discussed by Dr. Howes
"Finding Your Inner Radical Self"
As the famous "Okie" Will Rogers once said there are three ways to learn how to do something. Some people will learn by reading books, some will learn by watching what others do and there will be those who just have to piss on the electric fence to figure it out.
Dr. Howes Quotes:
The magnanimous dance of the redox electron is the bona fide ballet of life.
Without educating the "radically" ignorant, convincing them of the dangers of antioxidant over use is an impossibility.
Resolving redox confusion has proven fiendishly difficult.
The most important of all rules is the rule that no rule is immitable or put it another way, the rule is that no rule remains the same rule...forever. Rules are progressive and not everlasting.
When the expanding universe collapses, we may experience reverse evolution or "devil-ution."
Two main quarries, oxidants and antioxidants, supply the major building blocks for electron and proton flow in living entities. Rock on!
Just about the entire time you begin to figure out life, it's time to die and you grasp just how little you have figured out.
Just when you figure out that you can not figure out life, is when you realize that we are all as dumb as a box of roxs...er, rocks.
Antioxivores, gobble down your synthetic supplements to support billon dollar sales but so at your own peril.
Oxidants and antioxidants are like Wasabi or a bass player---i.e. they do not work well alone. They are co-dependent in their life-sustaining quest of promoting electron and proton flow.
The half century of occurrance of the free radical theory will merely represent a moment of confusion in the overall history of redox thought, aerobiosis and oxygen appreciation.
Radicophobes can ignore the truth or they can reject the truth but they can not change the magnificent truths regarding the crucial role of EMOD's in the life process of all aerobes or the inherent splendor of oxygen.
Under abnormal conditions, elecronically modified oxygen derivatives may be toxic in excess but the same can be said for water and food.
Friends do not let friends injudiciously ingest antioxidants
Amused and annoyed in equal measure, I peruse the antioxidant vitamn ads. Quotes are inspired by the marketing and business milieu, which distort the facts to score a selling point....so much for science. Let's hear it for sales.
I toil to reveal the deceptive profit-driven agenda of the antioxidant and radicophobes.
The best thing about free radical theory is theat you intuatively feel and instinctively know that it is wrong,.....just plain old wrong.
Antioxidants: Known harm for unknown benefit.
Comprehensive Rejuvenating Antioxidant Program: C.R.A.P. Yes, this is their antiaging plan. Their are CRAP creams, CRAP pills, CRAP supplements, CRAP shampoos etc... In short, it's all a lot of CRAP
Hydrogen and oxygen are two of the most flammable elements. Yet, combine them into water and they are the most effective extingusher of their own fire. The very essence of nature can be drastically altered by association and company we keep.
Oxygen is the biomarker for life on the planet Earth and used as such by those in the search of life throughout the universe. It is not the sentinel of death, as espoused by the ersatz free radi-crap theory.
Many faux theorist on aging subscribe to the free radical theory, which is like the theory of Bigfoot, only with less credibility or substance.
Faith is the capacity of accepting, without question, the incomprehensible as acknowledged and simplified facts.
Theorists propose a multiplicity of parallel universes. I have visited them many times. I sleep and enter via the dream-worm-hole portal. It is as real as all of the other unprovable universes. The dream dimension truely alters space and time in a remarkable, mysterious and inexplicable manner.
Humans are being rejected by the planet. I feel it.
At 65, I have entered a strange place. A place of looming questions and a place where i realize that I am nearer to death than I am to life. I am no longer all
Hello, over time we have shared studies and discussion on Vitamin D. Here are some bullet points to recap followed by a few new discussion points presented by Dr. Jie
+ Vitamin D is plentiful in the sea. Vitamin D originates at the base of the food chain as both D2 and D3 in zoo and phyto plankton. Discussion located in blog posted January 2014 titled Food Chain as Origin of Vitamin D in Fish
+We routinely test our fclo for D2/D3 but we also went through the expense to have our oils tested using the rat bio assay. The lab fed our fclo to rats and measured bone growth/density to confirm not only are there molecules floating around but they are active in fuction. Our products were very active with vitamin D affect. The scientist who did the work taught me much on the subject. One paraphrase I will not forget; 'All the vitamin D testing is meaningless. The only way to test vitamin D is to feed it to rats! Rats don't lie! ' In other words... count all the molecules you want. Counting molecules does not equate to results.
+As commonly known within the fishery industry and referenced to Fishery By-Products Technology "Fish oil, especially cod liver oil, is the best natural source of vitamin D2"..... click icon at bottom of artcile to continue
Below is short discussion provided by Dr. Jie on Vitamin D2 vs D3. He is working on a couple papers of interest to the group and this discussion will be part of his work but in much more detail.
I just quickly searched some scientific papers and found something interesting. The argument of "Vitamin D3 is better than Vitamin D2," is really meaningless. If they have different function, or if Vitamin D2 has not bio-activities, how can it be given a name as Vitamin D?
Here is something from USDA:
Major metabolic steps involved with the metabolism D2 are similar to those of the metabolism of D3. Vitamin D without a subscript represents either D2 or D3 or both and is biologically inert, requiring two obligate hydroxylations to form its biologically active hormone, 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D (1,25(OH)2D) (DeLuca, 1988; Reichel et al., 1989).
I think people would like to concentrate on Vitamin D3 is due to it can be synthesized in the skin. But remember, the bio-active hormone is 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D, which comes from both Vitamin D2 and D3.
"I Don't know a more nutrient dense food than Fermented Cod Liver Oil...Hundreds of thousands of molecular structures. It is Beyond a label discussion"
I have had about 6 identical questions in the past wk so my guess is someone is blogging about our product from a perspective of not understanding the product or simply intentionally misleading. People do make mistakes so I hope it is such rather than misleading with intent to confuse people. In past, when we have seen this type of activity, it is usually tied to selling something else. Oh what a surprise :).
If you have someone questioning Fermented Cod Liver Oil it might be as simple as thinking it through. We are doing nothing more than your gut would do to digest the liver for you. IF you are afraid of your natural digestive system then, and only then, should you be concerned about fermented cod liver oil. We are predigesting the livers with similar process of your digestive system. This makes the oil an essence of the whole liver and more available and nutritive than eating/digesting the liver itself. In addition we are learning to age the Fermented Cod Liver Oil. Maybe some day we will label with vintage years :)
I had one wholesale customer who contacted me saying that another sales person selling other products told him our products had FFA (free fatty acid) in them. My reply was 'I hope so'. Most industrialized oils will prop their products up and make claim statements on how low the ffa is in their product. But in fact this is a weakness. Industrialized oils need to keep ffa as low as possible because the process itself creates a product that if ffa is not controlled the product will be in poor condition and have a horrible or pungent smell. Industrial produced oils are completely different than fermenting the liver and have a completely different set of defining parameters. You can not look at both through the same eyes. You will continually get the wrong answers because the question is wrong. This might be how a blogger can make a honest mistake rather than intentionally misleading.
FFA is actually healthful for us. It is key for blood sugar management and other benefits........ click article to continue
Introducing Dr. Jie to our customers.
Over the years I have had a few trusted consultants within the scientific community. One of them is Dr. Jie. He has assisted in a variety of roles the past couple years including interning at our plant about 1 year ago.
Dr. Jie has a Doctorate Degree in Food Science Technology.
Some duties include:
Setting up lab for product and informational testing,
Assisting / writing Scientific papers on our products
HAACP, GMP, SOP,SSOP Director
Refining the fermentation and aging process
He will head new product development, We have been looking at making a pet food for our beloved cats and dogs for several years using the protein section of the fermented livers. During Dr. Jie's PhD Program he did some pet food development work. We hope to introduce a pet food sometime in 2015.
All our products are packaged in pharmaceutical licensed facilities, Dr. Jie will take over the role of coordinating the product safety testing and meeting regulatory guidelines ... This area of food manufacturing is ever more tasking.

Is this article correct. Or spoof? how could we miss this one comming?
In a few months regulators are poised to approve the first genetically modified apple. The new fruit is expected in grocery stores as early as 2014.
Made by Okanagan Specialty Fruits (OSF), the Arctic Apple comes in Golden and Granny Smith varieties, with Fuji, Gala, and others to follow. Unlike conventional apples, Arctic does not brown when sliced or bruised.
The Arctic Apple differs from other genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in a very important way: consumers will be able to identify it.
All fresh fruit will be labeled with an Arctic sticker, and processed foods containing more than 5 percent of Arctic Apples will bear the Arctic logo. Only pasteurized products such as juice and sauce will not be labeled.
As big food manufacturers and bioengineering companies spend millions to squash campaigns aimed at identifying GMOs, Okanagan wants its product to stand out in the marketplace.
In a series of videos addressing questions of safety and science, OSF owner, orchardist, and bioresource engineer Neal Carter said that unlike other GMO crops that are designed with traits that only benefit the farmer such as built-in pest control or pesticide resistance, Arctic Apples are designed with the consumer in mind.
Flavr Savr a Failure
OSF is not the first to try this business model. The Flavr Savr tomato, introduced in 1994, was the first commercialized GMO. Initially popular, the tomato was never profitable.

This is good for public to start this discussion. It is good that media is willing to publish stories on the topic even if the general talk of the article is negative on the idea.
I want to re-state my opinion.... The current secession talk is red vs blue. I understand this. People can discuss on this merit if they wish. This is not why I would like to see the discussion on the split up of the country into various smaller countries.
My position, long b4 the red vs blue discussion, that countries are like businesses and at some point become too big and monopolistic in nature. With this monopolistic bend comes corruption and leaders leading not in the peoples best interest. It allows for too much power to be controlled by too few.
In my view, todays America power structure benefits the elite class and military industrial complex. Is this what we want? Our constitution is a wonder but requires some level of virtue as its backbone. The size and power of our country today leads to something less than virtue.
I can see no down side to dividing up and allowing for states to form separate countries. Can we get some constructive why and why not conversation on the subject.. trying to stay away from red vs blue. I know this red vs blue is polarizing and the temptation would be to bring this into the conversation.
note: I moved to Nebraska 12 years ago. This state is different from all others i have lived. They have a Unicameral, Term limits, pay is 14,000 per year for the senators, no party affiliation and they only serve 60 to 90 days per year.... i like this.. are there other states like this?
Dr Huber Spoke at the WAPF conference this past wk. If there is one presentation to buy this is the one. Dr. Hubers information is startling. If you have been following this story linking glyphosate and a new pathogen you will know the importance if his work. Here are a few tid bits; The 'New' Pathogen is close to being sequenced, maybe within the month more information on this story. The US has dipped 25% in human fertility rate in the last 5 years. 93% of US females have this pathogen in their system. It appears the pathogen will be a prion or prion like. The pathogen is the first of its kind in its ability to cross between plant, animal and humans with the same destructive force harming fertility of its host. It is directly associated with glyphosate and is harbored in the soil and our food chain.
One paraphrase from the talk '...we are on the brink of a calamity...risk of loosing an entire generation....'
I think the link to buy the talk by Dr Huber will be posted soon on the WAPF.org site.
Dr. Huber is a retired Colonel, 13 years Joint Chiefs of Staff (two administrations), 40 year Purdue University pathologist emeritus
From Huber's summary: "The introduction of such an intense mineral chelator as glyphosate into the food chain through accumulation in feed, forage, and food, and root exudation into ground water, could pose significant health concerns for animals and humans and needs further evaluation."
I have two books open at this time. After Virtue by Alasdair Macintyre and Super Fuel by Richard Martin.
Some of you might appreciate both but because fuel/energy is a hot topic today the book Super Fuel; Thorium, The Green Energy Source For The Future is good news for discussion.
Short note from the book to start the discussion; "The more I learn about the lost history of thorium.......the more astonished and outraged I became. Here was an inexpensive, safe, abundant energy source that could power every city on earth, with enough left over for hundreds of millions of electric vehicles, for several millennia. And we are sitting on it, essentially doing nothing."
I have another book shows mineral deposits of North America and there are rich deposits of thorium all over the USA.
Here is a list of many failed or near failed green energy companies that have received tax payer dollars the past several years. Today, green energy supplies less than 1/2% of the total power used by the United States... maybe we should have built a Thorium Reactor instead. China is in the process of building the first.
Did the Federal Reserve really help the economy, especially main street, when they announced QE3? No, but they certainly helped Wall Street.
Everybody is getting all excited about the Federal Reserve's declaration of QE3. My reaction of the announcement was, it won't help much and it's more trickle down policy with the money going to the 1% while the 99% hope to get trickled on. Let's see why it was good for Wall St., but not so much for Main St. below the fold.
The risk of artificial sweeteners is still very real. Aspartame is used as a substitute sweetener in thousands of products. Most diet sodas, processed foods and candies contain this ‘alternative’ to sugar. If you aren’t careful, you’ll easily run into it somewhere in your food.
For Europe as a whole, the figure is 10.3%. What is revealing is this: ever since 1995, it has been above 9% most of the time. Only in February 2008 did it fall to 7.3%. For workers under age 25, the figures are much worse. A generation of educated college graduates has become a lost generation.
Yet as the chart reveals, a few countries are doing far better. Netherlands, Austria, and Germany have rates from about 4.5% to 6.5%. These are nations noted for their comparative frugality.
For Europe as a whole, it has been 40 years of unemployment. It the 1960s, European employment was high. This changed in the 1970s. Keynesian economists seem baffled by this. Keynesian policies of government deficits were supposed to end unemployment. They haven't in Europe.
The chart for the United States since 1965 is revealing. The unemployment rate climbs in recessions, then falls into the 4% to 6% range. Not this time. Since 2008, the rate has soared and has refused to come down. Use the interactive chart to select a base year.
All this is to say that the Keynesian system is unable to explain why unemployment should persist. The Keynesian tool kit has been available to national governments. The political leaders are disciples of Keynesianism. Their advisors are Keynesians. Yet the prescription is no longer working. The U.S. government has run three consecutive years of trillion-dollar-plus deficits. They have not worked to bring down the unemployment rate.
This raises a pair of questions. First, with respect to economic theory, why isn't the policy prescription working? Second, historical: When a theory ceases to explain events, why won't it be abandoned by a younger generation of theorists?
These two questions faced neo-classical economists in 1936. They could not answer either of them. They lost the war for the minds of the next generations.
Posted on December 16, 2011 The Economic Collapse Blog
Are we on the verge of another Great Depression? Christian Lagarde, the head of the IMF, said this week that if dramatic action is not taken immediately we could actually see conditions "reminiscent of the 1930s depression" and that no country on earth "will be immune to the crisis". Right now, financial panic is sweeping across Europe, but most Americans are not too concerned about it because they simply don't understand how important the EU is. The truth is that the EU has a much larger population than the United States does. The EU has an economy that is nearly as large as the economies of the United States and Chinacombined. The EU has more Fortune 500 companies that the United States does, and the banking system of Europe is substantially larger than the banking system of the United States. Anyone out there that believes that a massive financial collapse in Europe would not dramatically affect the rest of the globe is being delusional. The European debt crisis is one of the biggest stories that we have seen in a long, long time and the coming financial meltdown is going to permanently change the global economy.
It's almost time to say goodbye to the food your grandparents consumed, because genetically modified crops have spread their toxic attributes across the globe. As their damaged genetics spread, their potential harm is being denied, and scientists who speak out are persecuted.
If you are like me, the news coverage on the EU/Greek Debt crisis leaves one cross eyed. I found this piece that I think explains the issues and outcomes very clearly. And yes, it is important we all understand how this is playing out as we will all eventually be effected and without a deep knowledge we might not know how to appropriately react.

I conducted a laboratory experiment in 1989 in which I planned to discover how much, if any, mercury stored in animal's bodies when they ate raw and cooked swordfish. I chose swordfish because it is considered to contain highest levels of mercury, and because it is my favorite-tasting fish. I wanted to know if I had been contaminating myself with that delicious tasting fish.

tty. Orly Taitz met with congressional chiefs of staff, senior advisors and legal counsel for several senators and congressmen on Thursday, September 22, 2011 in Washington, DC (Sep. 26, 2011) — I met with legal counsel, chiefs of staff and senior advisers for four senators and three U.S. Representatives, and I also forwarded information to five more. The senators’ offices and staff that I visited were Sen. Coburn, Sen. Inhofe, Sen. Rubio, and Sen. Lee. In Coburn’s office, I think the meeting was the most promising. I had an in-depth meeting and discussion with his chief of staff, Michael Schwartz. He was very informed; he has all of my pleadings; he has all of my exhibits; he knows about the social security fraud and forgery of the birth certificate, and he was informed about the Columbia records and the fact that the student clerk house shows Obama attending Columbia only for nine months, even though he claimed to be there for two years.
Earlier in the wk i sent out a couple of articles that assist to dispell the myth about Mercury in seafood. Or at least help us better understand this topic.
I need your help locating more information on the subject. Specifically addressing heat and mercury.
My undersatanding is that mercury becomes unstable at during heating/processing and the selenium/mercury bond is broken during cooking/heating. When the bond breaks Mercury will bind with a hydrocarbon and make a mercury salt. This mercury salt is what is dangerous not the bound mercury as the previous articles indicated.
So the questions I am looking for information to answer/confirm include:
This is slightly off topic but blogs are to be fun... right? Currency is a big topic today throughout the world... here is another twist
What's a Bitcoin?
It's the state-of-the-art in money. It's a new form of electronic money. It's already become "the gold standard" of digital currency.
Ya know how email changed old-fashioned mail forever? Well, Bitcoin is changing money forever.
Based on some old technologies, and some new technologies... Bitcoin is the result of combining... the very state of the art in cryptographic security + the idea of a limited quantity commodity similar to gold and silver (where there's only so much of it) and using it as money + the idea of massive numbers of computers connected by the internet... forming a strong, resilient, indestructible peer-to-peer network. It's called a cryptocurrency.
Since the invention of Bitcoin... Money will never be the same.
Found this post. thought it flows with several other blog postings i published written by Dr. Don Huber. If below peaks your curiosity and you want to start your investigation please take a look on my blog for the articles written by Dr. Don Huber on GMO's.
According to F.W. Engdahl, an American-German freelance journalist, historian, and economic researcher, one long-standing project of the U.S. government has been to perfect a genetically-modified strand of corn. This variety of corn was field-tested over ten years ago, and according to the president of the small bio-tech firm in charge of that project...
"We have a hothouse filled with corn plants that make anti-sperm antibodies."

I have to warn you up front, this post is not at all optimistic. In fact, while writing this I’m feeling almost completely void of hope in the current structure of government in America.
Worth your time. 3 parts to a 20 min speech by author and columnist George Will. He describes in a direct and entertaining way the root issues troubling most Americans today... such as described issues with the Department USDA; 1 USDA bureaucrat per 19 farmers compared to when the USDA was formed, 1bureaucrat per 225,000 farms.
That economics, energy policies and even civil rights can supposedly operate independently of the adverse biological impacts produced by these commercial products. And that the constant, fraudulent “win-win” praises of high technology can somehow escape the universal laws and realities of “win-loss” that govern all other areas of life. With one of those major unreported, and completely unjustifiable, “losses” being a direct and increased risk for the development of multiple types of cancers.
One perfect, and as of yet legally unchallenged, example is the soon to begin banning of biologically inert, and safe, standard incandescent bulbs, to be replaced with multiplebiologically hazardous Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFLs).
The below string is from a discussion I had with an acquaintance from the EU. He raised some questions based on an article he found. I thought the dialog was appropriate for all to enjoy.
It used to be we would doctor generation by generation. Today’s media medicine attempts to reduce the art of doctoring to molecule by molecule.... I think this is a travesty to all humanity. Our existence is much more complex than this molecule or that molecule. .. But this style of doctoring does make drug companies plenty of $.
Here are a couple of the questions that were part of the dialog.
Cod liver oil's effectiveness stems mainly from its large amounts of omega-3 fatty acids.
Omega-3 acids are fats, and like all fats they contain large amounts of calories. Following some of the recommended dosage guidelines would add 200 calories a day to a person's diet. People taking supplements rich in omega-3 fatty acids may need to change their diet to ensure they don't include too much fat, which could also cause health problems.
Yes Americans are as dumb as They appear or they would not be taking FAKE vitamin D3 which flushes magnesium out ot their body causing diabetes among other things and they would stop puting gluten into their bodies which blocks vitamin D absorption (81% of the American population is gluten intolerant) and they would not have bought into the Cholesterol Con - I could fill volumes with how dumb Americans are but whats the point because the book would be out of date before it was published with all the new cons Americans are buying into on a daily basis.
+Pathologist retired Purdue University. i think he worked in and around Monsanto paid work. + devoting his time to blowing the whistle on GMO's and Round up + 1/2 life of round-up is not a couple wks like Monsanto first suggested but rather 22 years in the soil. the second 1/2 life is even longer +The GMO seed chelates minerals and makes them unavailable to both the plant and the consumer of the plant + round-up also chelates the minerals... Between The seed and roundup 60% of the minerals are bound and unusable..some minerals are completely chelated + round-up alfalfa will be the final pc.. to control all seed. It is a perennial and pollenates with just about everything

WHILE INSISTING HE DOES NOT WANT to be an alarmist, one of the nation’s senior soil scientists is alerting the federal government to a newly discovered organism that may have the potential to cause infertility and spontaneous abortion in farm animals and, potentially, humans. Dr. Don Huber, professor emeritus at Purdue University, believes the appearance and prevalence of the unnamed organism may be related to the nation’s over reliance on the weed killer known as Roundup. In a letter to Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, obtained by SafeLawns, the professor is calling on the federal government to immediately rescind the Jan. 27th decision to allow genetically modified alfalfa to be released to farmers this spring.
Below is a thread from one of the yahoo groups i belong. i thought the tread is worth a posting on my blog.
it starts off with someone questioning testing blood for vitamin D levels;
"At the 2009 Wise Traditions Conference Dr. Louisa Williams stated that Vitamin D testing only tells you what is circulating in the blood NOT what is actually getting into the tissues where it makes a difference."
I will attempt to scan the document quoted for more tid bits, here is the beginning of the Paper that I think is pointed to the topic. I receive many calls on EPA/DHA and i struggle with the question. The struggle is not about how much EPA/DHA the FCLO andf Skate have as they will have the same levels as any other CLO. Approx 15% of the oil will be EPA and 10% DHA for the FCLO. The Skate will be higher in DHA than FCLO.
