  1. My 2 1/2 year old twins eagerly took their cod liver oil and butter oil blend last winter (which they started calling “cod-y” as they were just beginning to talk), sometimes gleefully fetching the jar and spooning it out themselves while I looked on in utter amazement… Having never acquired a liking for the flavor of cod liver oil (to put it mildly), I am so grateful that my children are growing up with a love for this incredibly nutrient-dense food in their diet. One day I wondered out loud to my mother if their enjoyment of it had anything to do with the fact that I had eaten some while I was pregnant with them (when I was able to stomach it), and while breastfeeding – something my mother hadn’t done. Do children learn to accept flavor profiles from as early as in the womb or from their mother’s milk? I don’t know, but I hope that more and more children in this nutrient-deprived Western world grow up knowing and loving these nutrient dense foods.

  2. We take Green Pasture fermented cod liver oil with butter blend as we believe it helps us get our vitamin K2, A, D and omegas. We ferment sauerkraut and have sourdough starter that we bake with. We try to soak our nuts, beans and grains prior to consuming. We have also switched to unrefined salt. We have obtained a milk goat that we have been milking since last summer so that we have fresh, unpasteurized A2 milk available. Since then we have started making our own raw buttermilk, yogurt and sometimes cheese. We attempt to garden so that we can have fresh produce that is not sprayed, but we also purchase produce from a local farm whenever possible. It has been a blessing to learn about how to obtain nutrition from foods and to be more aware of the toxins and general malnutrition. Our children are becoming informed and realize the importance of many of these changes. It is exciting that they easily share this information with anyone they meet. We are on a journey to better health, thanks to the good Lord Jesus, and we are thankful to Green Pasture and all who sacrifice their time and talent to help us learn.

    I have been listening to and reading Weston Price podcasts and articles for years and so am e cited to read this book. Also about to order FCLO unflavored for first time and am encouraged by all the good reviews I have read about it!

  4. We do a number of things to assist in staying healthy so I won’t go into all of them. For us improved health began with good nutrition: no sugar, no processed foods, home-cooked meals, quality sourced meat, dairy, and vegetables, etc. We do use some supplements and the one that is always in our repertoire is Green Pasture’s CLO. We use the original flavor straight up. Thanks Green Pastures!

  6. We grow and raise as much of our own food as possible, and prepare all our food at home. We rock climb to stay physically and mentally fit. Spend the majority of our time outside moving our bodies and get plenty of rest. And of course we take our fermented cod liver oil every day!

  9. We use a functional medicine doctor and holistic dentist. I do try to use very little processed foods when I can. In the mornings before breakfast I will take the fermented cod liver oil in capsule or liquid form. I have noticed that when I stay on this regimen, I actually have fingernails that will grow. My whole life I have never had any fingernail growth because they are soft and brittle.

  10. I am really interested in reading this book! After a difficult winter in 2022 and 2023 where it seemed like my family was sick every 4-6 weeks, I want to understand more about how to keep my family healthy. We were already taking Green Pasture’s FCLO (cinnamon flavor) and I added the butter oil to our regimen a few weeks ago when I learned more about how the nutrients in each work synergistically. I’m hoping it will help to improve our dental health as well as overall wellness!
