Green Pasture Products is a family-owned business based in O'Neill, Nebraska, dedicated to producing high-quality, time-honored whole food supplements including Fermented Cod Liver Oil, Concentrated Butter Oil, and more.
Our journey began when our founders, Dave and Barbara Wetzel, decided to leave the fast-paced steel industry to raise their family closer to the land. After finding a suitable farm and consulting with an agricultural extension agent, Dave and Barbara started their grass-based dairy farm.
Fascinated by Dr. Weston A. Price’s studies on traditional diets and his remarkable findings on the health benefits of high-vitamin butter oil, Green Pasture Products launched its first product, concentrated butter oil in 2003. We expanded our product line four years later to include fermented cod and skate liver oils.
Today, Green Pasture Products offers several nutrient-dense superfoods, including concentrated butter oil, fermented cod and skate liver oils and even coconut products.

Green Pasture Products was inspired by the pioneering work of Dr. Weston A. Price, a renowned dentist and researcher who traveled the world in the 1920s and 1930s to study traditional diets.
In his book Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, Dr. Price talked about the high-vitamin butter oil produced when cows graze on rapidly growing green grass. Among his most significant discoveries was the powerful nutritional synergy between high-vitamin butter oil and cod liver oil. When consumed together, both oils dramatically improved his patients’ dental and physical health.
Additionally, Dr. Price discovered that in every traditional culture, regardless of location, people meticulously gathered and prepared sacred foods to nurture strong minds, bodies and spirits. These particular foods were essential for promoting lasting health for both present and future generations.
