It is a combination of our Fermented Cod Liver Oil and our Concentrated Butter Oil. This blended product is nutrient-rich and full of healthy fats to boost your oral and overall health.

Why does the Blue Ice Royal product line blend concentrated butter oil and fermented cod liver oil?
Dr. Weston A. Price identified numerous benefits of concentrated butter oil, which he referred to as “high vitamin butter oil” and described in his 1939 book, Nutrition and Physical Degeneration. Even more significantly, Dr. Price came to realize that the special concentrated butter oil worked best in synergy with cod liver oil. “One without the other did not do his patients justice, but the two together worked like magic.”

I have tried pure CLO in a bottle with a syringe, the combination CLO/butter oil in capsules and as a gel. I have tried the gel as both cinnamon and chocolate. I’m back to chocolate flavor. The cinnamon DOES cover the fishy taste very well. But my jar did not mix well with hot cocoa. Neither does the chocolate but the cinnamon was worse. Now I have added the orange flavored skate liver oil, the chocolate will go best with all the different flavors.

First heard about FCLO ages ago, and purchased a decade ago, as part of an overall dietary haul for developmentally delayed kids. Stopped due to severe intestinal upset and sudden-onset shellfish insensitivity (took capsules 10 years ago; taking gel currently, at lower doses). Tried it out again, now, in a desperate effort to repair baby teeth (personal friends had success using this product, with the same baby teeth problem). So far, so good, after only 2 months. Intestinal upset is minor and manageable for both mom and 2-year-old baby, after starting with 1/4 tsp daily for a few weeks, then bumping up to 1 tsp daily (for mom; baby still gets 1/4 tsp + whatever makes it to breastmilk). Tooth improvement is slow but documented; will continue buying this stuff until the baby naturally loses the affected teeth, at minimum. The cinnamon is quite strong for littles — Taken with a milk chaser is best. For older kids, if they hold the oil in their mouths until it completely melts and thoroughly mixes with saliva (we keep the jar in the fridge for easy spooning), it doesn’t sting as much going down. The chocolate, on the other hand, is totally unpalatable for everyone in the family; it’s fairly bitter, may be better for coffee lovers. The texture is grainy — not smooth like the cinnamon — and it takes forever to melt/dissolve in the mouth. The upside is that once he tried the chocolate, the baby practically begs for the cinnamon now.

By the by, I do not just swallow the gel. I have a cup of hot cocoa first thing every morning. I add the gel and coconut oil to it. It took a bit to get used to drinking an oiled beverage. But it is not bad. Just beat it up with your spoon to break up the oil into droplets.

So, I opened up the chocolate and gave my son a small spoonful, expecting him to ask for more… but was I wrong! It tasted like fishy fish dipped in chocolate. The cinnamon was a bit more palatable but still nothing I was wanting to taste more than once.
We will stick to the capsules. Unflavored, easy to swallow and packed with rich nutrients.
I gave two stars because customer service was helpful as one of our jars was broken upon arrival. But no stars for flavor and experience of having tasted them.

The pictures tell all you need to know. This stuff is miraculous, especially during formative years. Another miracle is that it exists, and you can just “Click & Ship”.What are you waiting for? First let me say how much I love Green Pasture and the friendly, professional staff! I have a wellness center in Michigan with a small retail outlet for natural supplements and healthy lifestyle choices. My clients love the Royal Blend Gel. One client remarks that she has not needed to use skin lotions or moisturizers since including the Royal Blend in her diet. The taste is well received, too. The fermented cod liver oil/butter oil is a great product I’ve been using for years. I feel it is a really important part of my health routine. My favorite flavor by far is the chocolate cream. I don’t even have to use a chaser anymore!

The best cod liver oil supplement on the market. I’ve seen an improvement in my skin (specifically keratosis pilaris) when taking this product regularly. I take it followed by water and a small slice of lemon (rind and all) and there is little to no fishy aftertaste.

This is my first time ever purchasing. I learned about this product from Ramel Nagel’s book, “Cure tooth Decay”. Personally I have never had a cavity but a recent checkup at the dentist for my 3 1/2 yr old daughter showed three near cavities. I was discouraged and would prefer to avoid the special flouride treatment they are pushing to MAYBE prevent further decay (80% effective). The book was recommended by my sister to see about reversing the decay. I am encouraged by all of the positive reviews!
